If you have sent your wedding invitation to all of your friends and relatives, there is really no need to separately announce your wedding. But if you have a small wedding and you have not invited all of your extended family, friends, or colleagues, a wedding announcement is necessary to let people know you made it official. Announcements are especially useful if you want to let professional colleagues know you're changing your name because you're now married.
- Make a list of all of the people to whom the wedding announcement is to be sent.
- There are custom printed wedding announcement cards which can be used for this or it can be printed along with your wedding invitation.
- It will take around two weeks for the preparation of the wedding announcement cards, so the order for the cards should be made at least one month before the wedding day.
- Information like your married name, your husband's name, your parents' name and the names of your in-laws should be included in the wedding announcement.
