Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

Rehearsal Dinner is traditionally planned by the groom's family and it is also the best time to iron out last minute issues and confirm that everything is going as planned. With all the pomp and circumstance of the wedding day, couples typically want a more relaxed atmosphere for the rehearsal dinner. It should be a time when family and friends can be comfortable and get to know each other.
  1. What to wear for the dinner depends on the theme and the venue of the dinner. It is better to select a theme very different from that of the wedding.
  2. Invitations are not necessary for the rehearsal dinner, but it is not a bad idea either.
  1. You do not have to invite everyone on the wedding list. Immediate family, wedding party members and their spouses should be invited. The wedding officiant should also be invited.

  1. Plan flowers, decorations and music to make the place festive and lively.
  2. Select a caterer, menu and choose a different flavor of food than what you have selected for the reception.
  3. It is a good idea to spread around some toasts. The groom's father can toast the bride and the groom can toast the bride's family.
  4. Prepare and practice the toast beforehand.
  5. You can surprise your guests by giving thank you gifts to your parents and in-laws just to express your love and this will score a big point.
  6. The gifts purchased for the attendants can be given at this time with a smile and sincere thanks.
  7. The rehearsal dinner is for bringing friends and family together and to have quality fun time.
  8. Remember to end the party early so that every one gets a chance to rest well before the wedding day.
